Fusing frontiers is the first project that utilises HP Spark software, exploring and showcasing the use of creative code in generating variable digital print, and how creatives might use it, as well as encouraging others to explore it.
A suite of print materials that begin to explore and reflect upon the creative journeys this new way of working may lead designers, coders, artists and the creatively curious.
These materials were launched at an exhibition at Fedrigoni's London Studio, and were accompanied by a series of workshops where participants could explore some of the principles behind creative coding in this way.
A selection of the materials that form Fusing Frontiers, showing some of the ways it can be used to make each print unique.
HP Spark builds on aspects of the creative coding language P5.js used in generative art. This enables greater flexibility in the ways that you can use variable digital printing.
The materials themselves are themed around exploration such as maps, constellations, postcards...
